Five Russian tourists were slightly injured just after 6pm when the Pegas Touristik tour bus they were riding in went out of control in Patong, near the bottom of Patong Hill, and crashed into a house.
PHUKET – June 4,2013; The bus, which apparently ran out of brakes, careered down the lower part of the hill, near Wat Suwankiriwong, went straight on into Phisitkoranee Rd and slammed into the house, destroying the front wall.
The crash was reminiscent of another, in February last year when a bus full of Chinese tourists, and no brakes, plunged down Phisitkoranee Rd and smashed into a different house. On that occasion too, the toll was light, with one motorbike and one pickup truck damaged, and two passengers slightly injured.
Pegas Touristik does not own the bus; like all the others carrying its distinctive winged horse logo, the bus is privately owned and chartered, with driver, by the company.
