To those that do not know where Soi 6 is and what goes on. I will give you a run down. Please check this thread as I will be editing and updating stuff as I read it through again.
Names for Soi 6
The Thai name for soi 6 is Soi Yodsak or Soi Hok (hok is Thai for 6) Technically you should say "Soi 6 Beach road" But if you say soi 6 and smile or say lady, they will get it.
Some of the nick names for the soi from girls that don't work there, is usually "soi laamok" (pervert) "soi sockapok" (dirty - not in a good way lol)
Farangs will often refer to soi 6 as "soi half a dozen" "dirty half dozen" so there gfs, wives or regulars dont know they are talking about soi 6.
So where is soi 6 and how do you get there?
Soi 6 is between beach road and second road. You can walk through the soi, there is no footpaths, but the road is usually considered the walk way. You can drive your car or motorbike through the soi. No problems parking motorbikes but you will probably want to park your car before you get to the soi, as there is rarely a space. Its usually polite to park outside the business you are visiting.
You can jump on a baht bus that travels down second road and hopefully he drives over the crossroads (set of lights) across central road, as you pass the hard rock hotel on your left hand side you will see this approaching sign. (picture of corner bar below, thats the bar at the top of the street you see as you are arriving) Or ask a taxi driver "soi 6" and smile and if he doesn't understand try it in Thai "soi hok"
I usually pay motorbike taxis 60 baht from lk metro area or walking street either way, I don't know if that is too much or not, but I suspect its around about right.
On the photo below, I have outlined the traffic direction on beach road and second road. I have also indicated in blue, the general path that everyone walks from one end to the other. Sorry the photo is big, but I feel its important. I also outlined the two bars that I part own.
The blue line is 350 meters and takes the average person 3.5 minutes to 4 minutes to walk. However if you make it the full way or do it in less than an hour, maybe your gay or pussy whipped. :-)
This bar is the first bar at the top of the soi and its a good drinking bar for those that need some dutch courage. The owner is Chris, don't be scared to join the social drinking tables up there,.
What does Soi 6 specialise in?
Soi 6 is a fun day/nighttime soi with lots of girls to entertain us and lots of rooms nearby for privacy and speed.
Generally you pay around 300 baht to realise the girl from work as compensation for her salary, then you also have a room available in that price. What you do in the room is up to you and the girl, but customers often leave the rooms 700 baht to 1000 baht less off, depending on performance.
Some bars are famous for different reasons, but without writing too much about individual bars, if you see the bar has a closed front and lots of girls outside, they want you in and out in general. The open bars are trying to make money from drinking mostly, but all girls are generally available, especially if they are dressed sexy. The girls dressed in air line uniform, Japanese school girl uniforms etc are all good to go.
Opening Hours
Most bars seem to open at 1 pm, with more and more girls arriving as it gets late, with the new night clubs in town for the last 4 years, girls seem to get up later. Some of the best freelancers don't even arrive until 7 pm. Most bars have to or do close at 1 am. Because the soi dies down anyway. We at night wish stay open later than that, and are doing our best to convince the rest of the soi to stay open til 3 am.
Are the girls more hardcore?
I would say they are as sweet and nice as most bar girls, but less attitude than gogo girls and less cost. Alot of soi 6 girls get more experience and tend to focus on keeping you happy and probably 99% do uncovered bjs. Some of the hotter ones are too lazy to dance all night in a gogo and may have recent birth stretch marks so wont work in gogos.
Most of the older girls tend to do more things, better attitudes and tend to do a better job, but that goes without saying. If you are into hard sex, your best bet is with an older lady (30+) as they can handle it.
I've even spoke to ladies with money, businesses and family marts, but they just love getting fucked, they are the best for everyone.
Can you long time girls?
Some girls make more money staying on the soi all night, some girls get bored and want to go out, others are just feeling lazy to carry on working. Most the girls will go longtime, but just remember alot of them have Thai boyfriends so they just do the daytime or night time stuff while hes at work and in bed by 2 am
I find if a girl likes a customer and if she has a Thai bf which allows it, or she is looking for some fun away from the bar, they will do longtime, might be more successful if your going to show them around.
As the bars rely on girls to sell drinks, they do a higher barfine rate earlier on in the day, as the girl will loose the bar money by going out.

Police Raids.
When the police do their raids around town, it does not affect customers 99% of the time. Soi 6 often gets hit one or twice a year and they check girls for age and drugs, you wont be affected unless your abusive or make a scene.
Advantages of Soi 6
Because all the girls are on view and its a 350 meter stretch, you can see many girls quickly and make your pick, its generally not a main road, so its private, less families or regular tourists watching you. Most people are down there for the same reasons as you.

Unit prices freehold are creeping up to 7 million each, therefore in theory the soi is worth 1,176,000,000 baht (24 million GBP or 39.5 million USD) This does not include what the businesses are worth inside the units, but for argument sake, the businesses inside each unit are worth 1.5 million each on average. (168 units times 1.5 million thai baht) Thats another 252,000,000 baht for the businesses on top, so its
1,428,000,000 baht is the total worth of soi 6 which includes businesses and freeholds.. (30.3 million GBP or 48 million USD) This is a bit of fun, not really worth arguing over.

History of Soi 6
The first bar that came was king kong bar and the concept of it being in the middle of nowhere was totally insane, this was over 20 years ago. But the fact that its in the middle of nowhere is probably its saving grace. Some of the original bars had a no win no fee system involving oral stuff.
Some of the strange businesses that you see, like the lawyers office opposite smoke and kisses, are there because they have been there 20+ years.
Alot of veterans have said that soi 6 has calmed down alot both with drugs and girls pulling them in the bars, it probably has a direct correlation.
Recommended Places To Start on Your First Soi 6 Mongering Expedition.
Without offering my personal experiences and recommendations, I would personally recommend looking in our soi 6 forum and seeing who is talked about and stuff like that, in general the bars that are owned by members will be a safer bet and you can also PM the owners/managers to let them know you are coming. Bars that are owned or highly frequented by forum members that are very active on the forum. (Skybar, Quicky Bar, Corner Bar, Ruby Bar, Pussy Club, Obar2 and Night Wish bar) And none of them have any ladyboys mixed in with the girls, as they know its bad for business.
The only bar that I say you should be weary of is Pat Bar. I have heard too many unresolved complaints from thefts while in the shower. (very very rare anywhere else)
Is Soi 6 Safe?
I would say that its safe as any other place in Pattaya, even more so because there are lots of eyes and ears around and only a few ways to escape. I would say if you are visiting the soi after 1 am when most the bars are closed, I would be polite to the ladyboys and dont tease them with gold/expensive phones. I have met most of them by returning home at night and they see me and seem ok, The most riskiest part is getting into a fight with a ladyboy, but its very very rare and usually started by a customer aggressively turning down a ladyboys advances.
Oral Specialist Bars.
Because my article may be exposed alot, I would rather you search the sections on the bars that specialise with downstairs BJ's most will do it, if they know you and you spend good. It can be in an all in rate, so make sure you don't pay again, unless your tipping.
Looking for recommendations.
If you go in any of the open aired addicts affiliated bars, there will be PA members in all of them, most of them are happy to recommend you girls with good attitudes and your meet you spec and expectation and its worth its wait in gold by avoiding lots of hassle finding the one with the spark.
Drink Prices
The drink prices can be more than bars elsewhere, but these bars can be volatile and risk getting shut down, so it has to be worth making the extra cash. The drink prices reflect other costs in encountered by having rooms on site. The drink prices being high, means a higher standard of girls. You are looking at 80-90 baht for a bottled beer in most places with girls.
Room Quality
It seems to be the same price if the rooms are old and dirty than if its a new room. On-suite or communal. The best way of finding decent rooms is asking around, some dont have showers, just a bucket. And those rock solid mattresses give you ball ache and a heart attack from over working. Those mattresses are so solid, because they are polysterene. The best way to know if good rooms, look at the front and inside the bar to see how much they have reinvested. Some Thai owned ones don't always change the covers, it should be the girl doing cum dodging, not the punter from the last guys jizzism.
Most bars will knock the door after one hour to remind the girl, its no set time, but she should be paid more really to make it fair for extra time, unless shes a regular and/or happy with the arrangements, we dont have that policy unless we are busy. But if we are busy, we will add another barfine for each hour extra.
If your towels or bedding isn't changed for fresh ones you should stand up for yourself politely. All linen needs to be washed at a high temperature or they will harvest bed bugs or crabs and eggs. Its rare you hear from people about catching these things, as its easy to prevent the problem.
The best rooms will have mirrors on the ceilings and walls to get full visual. We have also got dimmed lights for customers to set.
Condoms.
Its usually assumed that the girls provide the condoms, but its worth asking on the way up the stairs. They get them for free anyway, just watch out for some of the new girls having smaller Thai condoms that can rip. If your going to have a orgy with lots of girls or your going to be taking it off several times to get more oral, you should make sure she has enough or keep your own supply.
Just remember if you bareback them, your not the only one, don't assume or listen to any excuses. If you have one that is willing, she could be having unprotected sex several times a day. And she could even have a load up her from the last guy. As we are all human, it will happen at some point, but you should try to avoid it, or limit your risk by having a regular. Bar Etiquette.
Some guys get confused by how things are done and the rules of what happens, I will run through the whole process of how everything happens. Sorry to make it so basic, but I have seen guys struggle especially with the paying part.
Generally on the hunt, the guy walks up and down the soi until he sees a lady he likes, all the ladies sit outside in view waiting for the next customer, some of them will physically interact to incite the customer into the bar, with certain offers that will make your grandma cringe. Some guys go straight to a regular or a recommendation, some guys look for a girl they are attracted too. Often the guy will keep looking to find a better one and come back. Generally, if you see a cracker take here there and then, or she may be gone when you walk back lol
If you walk into a bar without choosing a girl, you will get followed in by one that hasn't been too lucky that day, there is usually a reason for that, or they queue themselves up, or the mamasan will try to match. The best approach is to choose as you approach the bar and put your hand out to the lady that you like and see if she is responsive or not. Then offer her to go inside, if she goes inside, it pretty means that she is going to go with you. (but not signed and sealed) At any point can the girl back out, several factors for this, a regular walks in, she doesnt like you, she doesnt feel comfortable with your bedroom ideas etc, so, please don't take it personally. The period thing is often an excuse as they can put sponges up there, but some of the newer girls don't feel like doing that, or have an upset stomach. All girls do go in soi 6, or there is no point them being there. (despite what they tell sponsors)
I always recommend to buy a few lady drinks to put her mind at ease, maybe ask a few questions where she is from, let her know your not some raving lunatic. You can sit with her in privacy and even get intimate to check how responsive she is, but don't be fooled, some of the new girls wont like this in public, (but a cracker in the sack) some of the other girls don't mind, but may see them looking over at a pushy mamasan. If you do anything downstairs or upstairs, you are still liable to a 250-350 baht short time barfine.
You often have to pay barfine first and usually clear your bill before you go up, Unless you are a regular or are with a regular.
When you get in the room, you are expected to shower before anything starts, usually best to shower with her as foreplay, she can make sure your clean and then there is less chance of items in your trousers going missing, i.e cash in your wallet. This is so so rare I am shocked, but no point in tempting a girl, thats leaving the next day anyway, or the girl who needs big money for mums gambling debts.
Most people shower after the act and then pay during getting your clothes back on. I always tell guys they should pay 700 baht if they are not happy or 1000 baht if its gone to plan. Then pay for anything strange or extras that you did. If you are expecting/requiring anything strange, its probably better to negotiate first about price and how it will pan out.
If the condom breaks in the room and the girl wants a few hundred baht extra, i would just pay it!
If something goes wrong, like an argument breaks out, her attitude changes, or some disaster happens, you must pay the going rate, you cannot say that you didn't finish, the last thing you or the bar or girl wants is a problem, just pay her and talk to mamasan on the way down. If the girl acting wrong, she will be spoken to and or punished. I would never ask for a barfine back on principle, but i don't disagree with it. Its a good way to punish the girl. What I am saying here, if you stick your dick in any girl, even if its for a milisecond, you must pay. Not all people will agree with my advice, but if you want a trouble free holiday and easy life, its worth it. If you get into a dispute where the girl is asking for way too much, then you should tell her to discuss it infront of the mamasan. If it gets ugly (rarely rarely ever) you should just pay, never return and tell all your friends.
Just remember if you treat one girl bad, she will tell her friends and none of them in the bar will go up with you. If you treat her well, next time you come, she can vouch for you to the new girls.
Some bars will ask for payment upfront, which includes the girls fee, this is done for several reasons, if the girl is deaf or dumb, if its a late night bar with no security, if they have had lots of problems with customers and most importantly for us, its to stop the girls secretly inflating prices.
I always ask our girls to try and make sure they come down at the same time as the guy (if he is unknown) that way if one day someone leaves without paying or even worse assaults a girl and leaves, we will find her quickly.
Etiquette Tips on being a butterfly.
Some guys take a girl in a bar and they cant do anything else in the same bar as they feel bad about the girl or she puts up a stink. Its important to tell her your coming back for her friends, and make sure you do asap. If you take 2 at the same time everytime, you wont get these cockblockers destroying your time lol
Communal Showers
As bars are brought they seem to be getting converted to on-suite, I think that is how it will progress. The communal shower is usually a small shower closet which has one shower in or at worst a bucket of water and a scoop. It can be locked from the inside. Some guys like the novelty of waking past another mongerer while heading to a shower, chest out and proud! I think its better to have a private shower attached to your room, you also know no one can come into your room while you are still there. Some of the best laughs with your mates can happen during shower time with everyone walking around in a towel and nude.

Ladyboys
There are bars such as horney bar, pooks bar, A bar, hi boss etc that are ladyboys specific. My personal advice if you are looking for a ladyboy, to find them working (sitting) inside a bar. I know that Pook bar checks for drugs and its likely the others do. So the drugs using ladyboys walk around randomly, sometimes pretending to work at a bar. For your own safety, i would recommend taking a ladyboy that works at a bar. If you want to be more discrete, you can walk down Soi 6/1 which runs behind and parallel to soi 6. The ladyboys hanging around at the back of bars generally work for the bar, the ones walking around are probably freelancers. There seems to rarely be problems with the ladyboys down soi 6, but its always good to remain cautious.
Some bars do mix them and you have to be aware, but the bars listed on this thread definately do not and will not.
If a ladyboy gets aggressive or touches you inappropriately, you shouldn't react aggressively or start fighting, the majority of men laugh it off, so its learned behaviour, you just have to smile and move on. Tell them your wife is on the soi or something. They will treat you how you treat them and if a fight breaks out, you have alot of ladyboys on your back and it wont be pretty.
If you go to the soi after 1 am, some of the ladyboys hanging around do work in a bar and often have keys to get you back in the rooms. This is the most dangerous time to meet a lady boy, as there is no one around and some may take advantage if your drunk. Maybe better to go with a friend. You can see a few funs times being had down alleyways, but if you do that, your vunerable.
When i see ladyboy bars, I often walk very very fast past them and look right ahead like you are going somewhere, they leave you alone most the time.
