Been through this twice now and helped friends out so I thought I'd post it here

Get your residency certificate from immigration on Jomtien soi 5. You will need:

1) Your passport
2) A letter from your landlord preferably on letter headed stationery stating your address OR your rental agreement.
3) Two Passport sized photographs

Before entering the building have your passport photocopied at the copy shop just outside. You will need copies of the main page, visa page & last entry stamp.

If you are applying for car and bike licences they will try and sell you two certificates at B200 each. You only need one original, the other can be copied. SAVING B200.

Tip, take a pen with you.

Get you medical certificate. Dr Sawaddipong clinic on Pratumnuk Rd just South of Marine Plaza charge B80. Many places will charge B150 or more. Take your passport with you. Again if you are after car and bike licences they will try and sell you two. You only need one original, the other can be copied. SAVING B80.

Get your Driving licence. You will need:

1) Passport
2) Residency certificate
3) Medical certificate
4) Foreign driving licence
5) International driving permit (optional)

An international driving permit should reduce the number of tests/checks you will be required to perform.

Before entering the centre have your passport photocopied at one of the copy shops outside. You will need copies of the main page, visa page & last entry stamp. If applying for car and bike licences you will need two copies of everything. Copy the residency and medical certificates if you are applying for two licences. Make copies of your foreign driving licence and international driving permit if you have one. Put your signature on each copied page.

Application forms are given out at the entrance door to the centre, fill in the forms and take them back to the clerk. She will check them and give you a number. Go upstairs and wait for your number to be called.

Tip, take a pen with you and a book or magazine to read.

Tip, When you get your licences buy the little B10 plastic pouches to keep them in, the licences scratch up VERY easily.
