Preamble

Around 300 odd days have passed since booking this trip, my last trip being during Songkran 2012.

This will be my first low season trip and I am looking forward to it. Pretty much chomping at the bit. It's little more than 24 hours before I get picked up for the ride to the Airport. I have booked Lufthansa and used frequent traveler miles for upgrades to and from Thailand, this will make the trip a little more comfortable considering my 6'4" and slightly pom pui frame. It also gives me a chance to have some real sleep (I hope) on the flight over. The flight was pricey for economy but with the upgrades its a good deal.

The trip reports I have previously attempted didn't work out too well as one day went into the next and my stay in Patts, though wonderful, seemed like the movie "Ground Hog Day", this was especially true during Songkran.

Well my fellow BMs I do promise to keep up with writing in the mornings and to take pictures to keep you interested in reading. Will be bringing my smart Phone and would like to attempt live reporting where possible. I think it was 999Baht or Vessey that have done this in the past and I found it quite interesting to see how they move about during the day and for what reasons etc. so I will be on the look out for free WiFi.

Further to this as there is always discussion regarding prices and what one really needs during a vacation in Patts, I have purchased an expenses application where I can enter all monies I have spent during the day. It can be totaled for individual days and yes also for the total trip. It can also calculate using different currencies (Euro, Baht etc.) based on the exchange rate the user stipulates. I think the important categories to keep track of would be:

Ticket

Hotel

Taxi

Phone

Baht Bus

Moto Taxi

Drink

Food

Bar Fine

LT and ST

I will be staying at the Chow Soy Guesthouse on Soi Chaiyapoon (3 minute walk to LK Metro). This will be my third stay there and I have nothing but positive things to say about the rooms, the staff and Dave the owner. If you check out my last trip report, you can see pictures of the room, good deal for 600 Baht per night. Will take new pics once I arrive.

I have booked Mr. T Taxi service to pick me up at Swampy. The booking via e-mail was swift and courteous, my last experience with them was also extremely positive. Cant wait to see the placard with my name on it after getting through immigration and customs.

Things I am looking forward to other than the obvious debauchery....

The first beer in Thailand after arrival

Corner Bar Soi 6

Meeting up with BM LASportsNut

PA BM Meeting at Sky Bar on May 17th with charity for the Agope Child Care Center.

Booking a day trip to Ban Chang at Drunken Duck

Going to Drinking Street

Picking up a Black Card at Glasshouse a go go

Full Moon Party organized by Nightwish on Soi 6

MClub

Mango and Sticky rice on Central Road

Street Cart Food

Yes plans and Pattaya don't mix nevertheless I will make the best attempt possible.

Hope to meet a few of the BMs in town during my stay and also hope you will enjoy reading my adventures and mishaps, I still consider myself a newbie even despite having two trips under my belt.

Will report again from the airport....gotta go pack :-)
