New to this board, but experienced on TER and WSG. Planning out a trip to include BKK>Patts>Phuket. Not doing so hot physically, so this will probably be a first and last trip to the LOS. As such, I have a decent budget for this hoorah. I have emailed hotels, gathered intel, read websites until my eyes crossed. I know that the Mariott and Hilton are two of the nicer hotels in Patts and that the Mariott is well known for being guest friendly. However, I like the ocean view and room design (bathtub on balcony) a lot better at the HIlton. Doing my recon, there is much debate on this board and a dozen others about whether the Hilton is or is not guest friendly. Some say yes, some say they head there's a 1000BHT joiner fee. Does anyone have any recent info? One or two people mentioned a way to sneak guests into the hotel unnoticed. I am good with emailing hotels for this info, but I only see a way to contact Hilton corporate and I'm not sure that's the best route for this question.
I know there are a lot of other hotels for less loot. My third pick might be the Rabbit Resort which would give me a nice beach/monger blend. Glad to share everything I learn and trip reports after I do my damage.
