My First Cherry Girl, Soi 6 Pattaya.
I am 58, and never had a Virgin.
I hit the jackpot last trip to Pattaya, 18th Nov 2015.
I was cursing Soi 6 that arvo, and sat at a bar across from Ruby Club.
There are 4 bars to see from there, IIRC it was the Spider Bar, more of a Pub.
Anyway, I was looking over all the girls, that were working across the road.
I fancied 1 young, slim girl from one of the Bars. And I went over and introduced my self, and, to my surprise, she (Lek) did not understand me.
She did not speak 1 word of English. Good that I can speak some Thai.
Found out, that she had just only worked there for 3 days, and had never been out or done. Her lack of English was my luck, as I was the first one to spend time on her.
We had a few drinks and she was talking about never having ANY Boyfriends.
She was 20 with an I/D card, and Oh so sweet and natural and new to it all.
I thought, yes O.K. a little B/S will go a long way, but I was wrong.
She still had mud, between her toes, FOTF – FOTB.
I had to treat her very very gently.
Anyway, long story short. It took me 3 days to finally plant her good and hard.
Very very unexperienced. And I had to teach her everything.
I confirmed it all with Google Translate, as that was the only way we could chat.
I have been to Pattaya, around 25 times, in the last 15 years, 8 of those being married to a Thai lady and taking her to OZ. But, this has been my best trip.
Thank You, my Budda, for the sweet cherry girl, that I helped to OPEN UP.......

Travelling from Pattaya to Siem Reap
hi,
I am interested in what options are available for travelling from Pattaya to Siem Reap. I want to do it in one day of course and via Poipet. I heard it can be very time consuming, but you should be able to do it in one day and a lot of patience. Are there any fast and cheap (mini)buses and where can I find them? Is taxi also a valid option? I don't want to spend a fortune though.
Is it a good idea to get an e-visa in advance?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

SC Villa (worried about possible construction work opposite)
I've just booked 16 nights at SC Villa on Soi Xzyte (off Soi Buakhao), thankfully refundable until a week before I get there in February. After doing at bit of research, consisting mainly of searching on here, and looking at Google Maps and Streetview, it seems a huge plot of land opposite has been cleared in the not so distant past, presumably awaiting construction works to begin.
The area in question used to be home to a bowls club, as well as small strip of bars (which are still viewable with Streetview from back in 2012), yet the 2015-dated aerial shot shows that entire area of land to have been cleared. Naturally, I'm more than a tad concerned that I'll be awoken every morning by a symphony of jack hammers and heavy machinery.
Does anyone on the ground know what's going on there atm? Even if it's quiet there, for now, I still may cancel anyway seeing how construction works could potentially begin anytime. Pretty annoying really... thought I'd found myself a decent deal.

Mamasan smart ass at Sweethearts AGOGO
After being at 6-7 other GOGO's, I decided to go to Sweethearts because I wanted to hear a few rock'n'roll tunes. I walk in and order a drink and wonder why the music is so low. The volume was down the same way some places reduce the volume to half when they are about to or they close down.
Whats going on?
Someone die?
Owner's hamster got run over?
I ask the mamasan why the volume is so low. She answers in a condescending way "That's the way we do things here?".
No problem. I've got my way of doing things too. I flicked 100 Baht for my draught beer I hadn't even touched and walked out.
Rock'N'Roll has to be heard loud .... we are not in a church Mamasan .... enjoy the 100 bah I'm not coming back and plus your girls
are mediocre anyhow!

condos - why no dancer poles, and would you pay extra?
Ok, so here's a Customer Complaint (read: "market opportunity" for the astute)
Why don't *any* of the private condos for rent in Patters or BKK have dancer poles in the rooms?
It has to be dirt cheap to install a simple platform & pole in a corner with a couple mirrors, and even the smallest condos I've rented (and studios in VT6 can be pretty small) easily have room for a 1m square platform.
And even there there would be concerns reselling the room in the future, it seems equally cheap to simply have the pole & platform removed when that time comes.
Not only would a pole room get priority in my rental decisions, I'd be happy to pay a premium.
So what do you all think?
And if anyone knows of a rental with a pole, please do list them in this thread!

Is the big money in Pattaya changing Issan?
In a normal economy you would expect to go from an agriculture focus to > low end manufacturing > skilled manufacturing > essential services > high tech & creative services. Outside of the resource rich (ie oil) economies, all developed countries have followed this path.
Pattaya is an aberration in this regard because a significant part of the workforce is able to sidestep traditional education and infrastructure requirements for advancement up the economic chain, and yet still earn big (in local terms).
And we all know where the working girls of Pattaya are from. And where they return when they get older.
For those of you in the know about upcountry... is Pattaya making a big impact in Issan? Or largely being wasted on "show off" spending that doesn't actually have much of a long term effect back in Farmville?

Working Together to Defeat ISIS
Before setting off on this thread, can I suggest that everybody familiarize themselves with this thread from Vessey Religious, Cutural and Political Threads: some guidence from the Moderator Team.
Defeating violent Islamic extremism (and ISIS in particular) is now viewed as a priority for most nations. However, how best to achieve this is a question which has yet to be resolved.
What we do know is that the present strategy in Syria and Iraq is not working. It was hoped that limited US air strikes, combined support for local groups, Iraqi security forces, Sunni tribes, and the Free Syrian Army would "degrade and ultimately destroy" IS. As we know, these actions have failed to defeat Islamic State.
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" is an adage more pertinent to the Middle East than to any other region of the world. Overlapping alignments make for strange bedfellows as alliance patterns frequently put hostile states on the same side of a conflict. However, rather than those who oppose IS working together, they are at each other's throats. The Syrian government v the 'moderate' rebels, Turkey v the Kurds, Western nations v President Assad....and of course the mutual distrust between Russia and NATO.
To defeat ISIS means working together. NATO. must overcome its aversion to working with Russia, its fixation with opposing Assad, and its principled objection to fighting alongside Iran. For all of Assad's faults, ISIS is a much bigger threat to the international community. It is impossible to successfully combat ISIS without prioritizing its defeat. The Huffington post says "the notion that defeating ISIS first requires resolving the Syrian conflict is misguided: Assad's strongest justification for holding on to power is to prevent a takeover by extremist militants. The U.S. cannot crush ISIS, force Assad to step down, condemn Russian combat missions, and isolate Iran simultaneously. Coordination by American, European, Russian, and regional partners would create a fighting force against which ISIS could not compete in the long run".
Putting together a coalition of all the anti-ISIS groupings will not be an easy task and will require strong political leadership to convince Western public opinion that Russia and the Assad Government are a critical partner in this fight. However, without working together, it is difficult to see how ISIS can be defeated.

Newbie friend and 2nd timer
So... me and my work pal are making our way to the place iv been dreaming of returning to for 4 long years.
Iv had thailand and particularly pattaya on my mind since I left back in Oct 2011. One or two failed relationships later iv decided at 32 I don't want a farang bird, I wanna get laid as much as I like and maybe just maybe settle down with a Thai lady that doesn't yak yak as much as my english/Spanish ex gfs.
So this is my second trip to patts, last time I was on my own and tended to stick to same place (soi 6 corner bar, drinking Street ) only visiting walking Street twice and not really going in any gogo bars or clubs.
This is my work mates first time and now I'm not alone I want to be a bit braver and venture further afield. .. any recommendations would be great. Thanks
