What's the point of the shower/hottub areas in gogo bars?
I have been trying to get my head around the shower and hot tubs in gogo bars, I just don't get what they are there for.
I mean is there someone that gets a kick out of watching a girl having a bath or shower rather than dancing, or is there some other point to these areas that I'm not getting?
For some strange reason this question has been bugging me and I'd love to understand what these things are for.

Another Soi6 crawl October 10/2013
The Mad Londoners crawl is to long of a wait so I thought i'd organize a crawl for
the October early birds.Just a normal crawl 1 or 2 drinks per bar then move to the next,
getting names and numbers for future short times.
I thought after the crawl we could go to Sapphire GoGo for the Thursday party and if we're
lucky Bryan might let us sit at the VIP table........Next to the toilets

Lady Boy threat - what to do?
I was in Walking Street at about 4am this morning and I stopped off at a bar on the way back to the hotel. I had a bottle of water. I'm telling you this so you know I wasn't blind drunk. I'm an old guy and drink about two beers to a bottle of water. I probably had about half a dozen beers and two or three waters all night.
There was a good looking and funny lady boy in the bar and I bought her a drink and chatted to her. When I got up to leave she begged to go with me. I said no. But she grabbed hold of my arm and accompanied me out of the bar.
To get away, I headed over to the nearby 5B toilets and went in for a pee. When I came out, she was waiting. She insisted on going back to the hotel with me. The alternative was to give her 500 baht. When I refused, she pulled a beer bottle out of her bag and threatened to beat me up. I'm an old guy and a bit frail and the lady boy was young and muscular so I considered this a real threat. I could see myself being another story of a farang being bashed up in the local press. I asked the toilet attendant to call the police and he just shrugged and laughed.
I gave the lady boy the few notes in the front of my wallet, about 80 baht, managing to conceal the thousand baht notes in the back of my wallet. She wasn't satisfied. I said I would have to go to an ATM or my hotel for more money and she held me tightly and walked with me up the street, threatening to bash me all the time.
There were no police left in Walking Street. We got to Second Road. I took her over to the first big hotel in Second Road, Welcome Plaza or Mercure (?), telling her that was my hotel. (It wasn't). As soon as we got to Reception I told the male on duty that the lady boy was threatening me and to call the police.
He wouldn't do that. Instead he wanted to know where I was staying. I gave him my hotel's card. He phoned and had a long conversation with my hotel.
The security guard indicated I should wait in the back pool area and the lady boy should wait outside the front of the hotel, which we both did.
After about ten minutes the male receptionist came out to the pool and told me someone from my hotel would come and pick me up. Shortly after, a staff member from my hotel turned up on a motorbike. The lady boy had disappeared.
I would have tipped everyone concerned but I only had 1000 baht notes left. So I ended up paying no one. I'll tip folks later when I have smaller notes.
In all the years I have been coming to Thailand this is the first time something like this has happened to me.
Did I handle this right?
Why didn't the hotel just call the police and let them sort it out?
Is there a better way I could have handled this?

Makeup On Pinays
Has anyone noticed that makeup on pinays (in general) completely changes how they look, than without it? It's amazing. I took out one BG that I met at tropix for few days. She had a friend that was not a BG but would go "fishing" at Skytraxx, the disco club. This girl was perfect in EVERY WAY, she looked like one of those tokyo dolls, and was fun to hang out with. I saw both of them the next day going to the salon parlor, and I didn't even recognize her, as she was trying to hide her face. Probably someone I would not even look twice at.
There has been VERY few times with a LT, waking up in the morning thinking... "she's still pretty hot." I mean, definitely cute, most of them,... but I find it amazing how far makeup goes....

Taxi Mafias Arrested
PHUKET– September 9, 2013 [PDN]; at 1.30PM at the police National office, Tourism and Sports Minister Somsak Phurisisak, Commander of the National Police, Adul Saengsingksew and other police officers had arrested Mr.Pom Sukasem,42 years old and Mr. Sari Sukasem, 52 years old who takes care of the taxi stand in front of Central Festival.
He was arrested in front of 130/42 Moo 5, Muang, and Vichit Moo 2 in Phuket on 8th of September. The two brothers were accused of controlling the taxi queues and for physically hurting taxi drivers for not pay for the service. Moreover, even taxi drivers that do not use their queue service are physically agitated and beaten when their taxi drops tourist in front of Central Festival. This issue has become a major concern for tourists.
After interrogating Mr.Pom he denied all allegations but admitted that he takes care of the taxi stand. This came about when 170 taxi drivers agreed on paying 200 baht per month membership.They were preparing to apply for registration as a cooperative taxi for tourists care but the police arrested them before. The police have charged them for intimidation and extortion campaign.
Tourism and Sports Minister Somsak Phurisisak received complaints from social networks and 16 embassies regarding the chaotic taxi mafias in many touristy places especially Phuket province. It is reported that these taxis have threatened and misbehaved by physically intimidating the tourists. This has affected the reputation of the country. Office of the National Police are now taking measures for the safety of tourist.

Suicide- A Global Issue
10th September is not just an ordinary day, but it remarks “The World Suicide Prevention Day” stated by the world health organization, because suicide is not the small problem but rather a global issue. The Pattaya Daily News has frequently reported about foreign and local suicides in Pattaya. However, this issue is just not an issue in Pattaya but around the world.
An approximate of 800,000 up to 1,000,000 people commits suicide every year which means about every 40 seconds one person commit suicide. The rates of those that have tried to commit suicide and not died are 10 to 20 times more than those that have died from committing suicide. The rates are also higher than those that have been murdered, died in war on crime or natural disaster. The people that commit suicide are usually in the aged between 15 to 49 years old.
World Health Organization has ranked Thailand as the 58th country in the world for suicidal rate.
The three provinces in Thailand that have the highest suicide rates are Nan at 15.09 per population of thousands people, followed by Ayuthaya at 13.84 per population of thousands people ,and lastly Chiang Rai at 13.33per population thousands of people ,. These statistics have been reported since 2011.
80% of people that commit suicide are due to depression. When a person suffers from depression they feel irritated, annoyed, uncomfortable, lack of interest in the environment and surroundings, reduced appetite, insomnia, fatigue, loss of memory. These are the main symptoms of depression if a person feels the symptoms for about two weeks then there are at the risk of depression. Psychiatric treatment will be necessary for those suffering depression.
Other factors that could affect suicide are health reasons or economy reasons. Once a person commits suicide it could lead to depression and other family members could also commit suicide.
“World Suicide Prevention Day “will hopefully create awareness and reduce the suicide rate.

I just got back from my 8 night trip to Bangkok and Pattaya the first week in September. I’ve still got tons of material to edit and will be providing short excerpts from my daily adventures over the next several weeks. Happy Birthday to Me in Bangkok & Pattaya - I had purchased a “Happy Birthday” banner to bring with me on my recent trip to Bangkok & Pattaya. I would stop and tell massage shop girls, gogo girls, freelancers, cashiers at after hours clubs and ladyboys that I was celebrating my birthday all week with parties and asked them to pose for photos with my “Happy Birthday” banner. Here are the results in photos. Oh, and did I mention my birthday was actually 5 months ago? It wasn't like the girls needed to know that one little detail was it? It's not like God carved in in stone tablets that "You shall not celebrate your birthday any damn well time you choose". Right????

Hunting down criminal
PATTAYA – September 10, 2013 [PDN]; at 2.00 am the restaurant manager Mr.Nanthat , 23 years old who is the son of a news reporter, reported to the police that a guy driving a red motorcycle drove towards and parked in front of the restaurant. The driver about 30 years old, the brand, model and license plate of the motorcycle is unidentified. From there he shot four bullets into the restaurant window. During the incident two staffs who are regular singers at the restaurant were shocked, but did not receive any injury. The CCTV cameras clearly showed the criminal behind the gunshot at Suamlum Restaurant No. 8/27 Moo 6, North Pattaya Beach Road, North Pattaya , Banglamung ,Chonburi.
Police investigated Mr.Nanthat, and the son of the owner claims that before the incident they would open the shop on a regular basis. Just before closing the shop someone fired a shot, it is the unknown who fired the shot because in the past no incident like this has ever happened. The CCTV cameras in front of the shop have been able to capture the criminal.
The police investigation Department has looked into the camera and now looking for the criminal involved in this. As for the reason behind the accident the staffs in the shop are being questioned so that further evidence can lead to clues of criminal.
